A Powerful CO₂ catcher, the Paulownia is our answer to sustainable growth and CO₂ reduction. Thanks to its exceptional absorption capacity, this tree offers much higher CO₂ storage levels than average tree species, directly contributing to biodiversity and climate goals.
Our trees are selected from one strong mother plant and grown in clean rooms, yielding uniform, disease-free plants. This ensures predictable growth and reliability, which is essential for large-scale ecological and commercial projects. With controlled climate growth in our laboratory, our trees are available year-round, without dependence on seasonal variations. This provides customers with reliable, schedulable supplies for large planting projects.
The trees
PAULOWNIA ELONGATA FUTURO
The Paulownia elongata 'Futuro' is a carefully selected hybrid known for its robust characteristics. This cultivar grows excellently on a variety of soil types and is particularly well adapted to the Dutch climate. In addition, Paulownia elongata 'Futuro' is ideal for biomass cultivation.
Features
The tree has a broad crown with leaves that can grow as large as 60 centimeters, which can be suitable for animal feed.
The tree can reach a height of 15-18 meters and develop a trunk diameter of 30-40 centimeters within 8-10 years.
Test plantings have shown that the seeds of this cultivar do not germinate, as no seedlings were observed during the 7-year trial period. The official recognition "not invasive" is currently under external review.
PAULOWNIA SHAN TONGUE
The Paulownia 'Shan Tong' is hybrid. Our Shan Tong was selected from a plantation in the Netherlands. This selection was made on the basis of a meristem of a tree that clearly distinguished itself positively from other trees, showing that this variety is ideally suited for the European climate. Thanks to its high growth rate, Paulownia 'Shan Tong' forms a straight trunk, making it particularly suitable for timber production.
Years of observations have shown that the seeds of this tree do not germinate. The official recognition "not invasive" is currently under external review.
Features
The tree has a narrow, upright crown and leaves that can grow up to 70 centimeters, making it suitable as animal feed.
The tree can reach a height of 16-20 meters and develop a trunk diameter of 40-50 centimeters within 8-10 years.
Test plantings have shown that the seeds of this cultivar do not germinate, as no seedlings were observed during the 7-year trial period. The official recognition "not invasive" is currently under external review.
PAULOWNIA ELONGATA FUTURO
One acre of Paulownias can absorb 40 tons of CO: annually, resulting in hundreds of Carbon Credits after 12 years!
