The process\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The propagation process is started in the Boereboom Invitro Cultures<\/em> laboratory in the Netherlands, to produce the desired number of plants for an order. After this start, the tissue culture material is produced in Portugal at Boereboom Invitro Portugal<\/em> scaled up to the desired number. The entire production process for an order takes about six months and takes place in this laboratory.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Tissue culture and rooting (Stage 3)<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When the plants are rooted at tissue culture stage Stage 3, they are transferred to the Netherlands. At a fellow propagation company, these plants are transplanted and placed on paper plugs. After rooting, the plants are hardened off, making them suitable as starting material for further cultivation.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Production of plugs<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For plugs suitable for direct planting in the open field, the plants are further grown in a cabrio-greenhouse for six weeks. After that, the plugs are ready for planting out. In spring, after transplanting, a technical cut is carried out so that the plants can grow into a straight tree.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At the nursery at van Oploo Garden Plants<\/em> the plugs are potted in spring. Here, the plants grow further, develop a solid root system and form healthy cuttings above ground. In autumn, the plants are cleaned and stored in a cold store. The following spring, the plants are removed from the cold store and pruned back.
